Ambient Occlusion is mainly about environmental lighting. Pay close attention to 'flat' looking textures like the fabric of the flag, and the fabric overhang at the noodle bar. It looks better, especially considering the flat-ish look to many of fallout 4's assets. This is because they almost completely ommitted the use of baked ambient occlusion, which is the method of making the textures.I enabled it and set ambient occlusion quality setting to high quality. My question is why was it disabled? Am I messing anything up by enabling it? And is there any point in doing this? Am I increasing the quality? It also says not supported for this application for ambient occlusion in the control panel.
So my conclusion is either NVIDIA has to enable it somehow, or my game must render in a very specific way, which NVIDIA can pick up on and insert its ambient occlusion calculations into my scene. Is there any documentation of how this works online, or has anyone gotten NVIDIA's ambient occlusion to work for an application they wrote?
